Duke of Rutland Reserves 1
Market Bosworth 2000 6 A. Allen 18' T. Alesbrook 34', 58' 82' M. Brown 60', 71'
For the final time in his career, Tim Wilson selected a team that would tear apart a very poor Duke of Rutland Reserves. A hat-trick for captain fantastic Tom Alesbrook, a brace for Mitch Brown and finally after several years of trying, a goal (all be it from the penalty spot) a goal for Ashley Allen. Lets be honest the away side absolutely cruised to victory in what was a very one sided 2nd half. Even without influential striker James Sharpe, who declared himself unfit before the warm-up, Bosworth managed to put SIX past a unusual keeper. Bosworth showed there dominance in the early stages when a through ball from Mitch Brown was latched upon by Ashley Allen, who found himself hacked to the ground by the home-sides keeper. Allen brushed himself down and blasted the penalty home, his celebrations sent the travelling support wild! Skipper Alesbrook slotted him 2 goals either side of the half, one set up by Chris Plant and the other from secon half substitute Michael Butler. Mitch Brown managed to grab another two goals and Alesbrook took home the match ball after Brown knocked on a long clearance from keeper Holdsworth. The only sour point of the game happened when substitute Richard Kendrick, who was bearly on the pitch ten minutes, strained his knee legiments. A vital blow for the player whom had just returned from the same reoccuring injury. 4th place might be good enough for MB2000 to gain promotion, but that will be down to the league to decide. Team: Holdsworth 8, D Holmes 7 (M Butler 8), J Robinson 7, J Holmes 8, J Horton 7, M Smith 7, D Howell 8, T Alesbrook 9*, C Plant 7, M Brown 8, A Allen 7 (R Kendrick 6, T Wilson 6). | ![]() MAN OF THE MATCH |
