I know I've spoke to some of you already but I couldn't get hold of everyone, and as everyone in the whole world is on Facebook (apart from Shashi) I thought I would try this way. As the day is creeping up on us quicker than John Barnes doing a Cruyff turn, I thought I would make some small arrangements....I have booked a hotel for both the Friday(1st) and Saturday(2nd) nights for everybody. It is £25 per night/per room and you can get 3 in a room, therefore £8 each a night..and still leaving you with a few pennies left for the maid!!! Can you let me know if you want a room both evenings please. The hotel is called Formula 1, as many of you are aware this is a bargain at half the price for such a luxurious venue, it is a couple of miles from both the cricket ground and Broad Street. Friday Evening...... The plan is to get to the hotel on Friday night around 20:00 (or whenever everyone finishes work), and maybe go out for a bite to eat and a small beverage to warm the liver up for Saturday's affair. We need to sort out some sort of car sharing system as well, there is no need for everyone to drive. Saturday......... We are all obviously going to the cricket, England V South Africa at Edgbaston. Just so you all know, we are all going in fancy dress, the theme is cartoon characters(Danny, no frog!). Please take my words of caution on board when buying your costume.....make sure it has some sort of device so you can get your knob out when you need to urinate, I pass these words of wisdom on as I witnessed a grown man completely butt naked stood at a urinal due to him having no 'flies' in his fancy dress costume!!! I think we need to be in the Pub outside the ground for about half nine/ten to get the day rolling. After the cricket we will go back to the hotel, have a shower, put our best shirts, shoes and dancing shoes on, and hit Broad Street (Chev, no lying on the bed at this stage). There is 23 of us all together, so it shall hopefully be a jolly enjoyable couple of days! Tim |
